Well, its about as furless as one of those wierd lil hairless dogs…There are some furs in the Miami-Ft Lauderdale area and at least one (me) in the Keys. There are lots of other non furry things to do, and the weather is substantially warmer in the winter then in Orlando or Tampa. There are lots of outdoor things such as the Everglades, Underwater State parks, and fishing…good fishing. Boating is great, if you have one! The work scene at extreme South Florida, the Keys, where I live, is tourist related. Mostly low wage jobs. There are no Techie computer type jobs to speak of. Jobs in construction and landscaping are available also. Artists will really be starving unless they are fantastically good, or can shift their talent to other forms of art such as sign painting, advertising or can work from home for online markets. Rent is from 500 for a dump, to 2000 plus for a whole very nice house on a canal. Many people room together to save money. The cost of living is not really that more then on the mainland.
Palm Beach County, though, has a good active group of furries (As of Nov. 2009)- you can find most of them on Pounced.org, which is their main way of finding other furs.
