The Mailing List Rules

We wish to maintain the list integrity and efficient transport with minimal bandwidth. Unfortunately, there are some who lack common sense on good mailing list behavior and brings us to these following rules of this mail List. If any of these rules are broken, the person doing so will be warned, and upon non compliance, could lead up to being moderated or banned from the mail list.

Mail List ** DO NOTS **

  • Spamming the List. It is understood that freebie mail services attach spam in tag lines, and this is exception to the spam rule.
  • Replying to Spam.
  • Personal Attacks or Flaming.
  • Replying to Attacks or Flames.
  • Chain Mail.
  • Cross Posting.
  • Sending Attachments. (These are generally blocked anyway)
  • Making newsgroup “Me Too” type posts
  • Abuse of Mime/HTML. The prefered message format is text only. Most mail readers can handle HTML these days, but excessive use of HTML, outside of simple alignment and font size is not accepted. No colors, images, CSS, Java, etc are allowed, and will get you moderated.
  • Not properly trimming replies. There is no need to take an entire thread of messages from another person's post, and leave that in your reply. Trim the reply quoted text down to just the pertinent lines of text that you are responding to. Also trim out the other person's tag lines, headers, etc.. This is the #1 reason why you will get moderated.
  • Please use personal e-mail to reply to messages when appropriate. Use the List only for messages which concern, or could be interesting to, multiple members of the List
